The employees of Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) stopped the organization’s operations and staged a protest against its privatization, ARY News reported.
The speakers, in their address, said that the federal government want to privatize the organization despite the fact that its earning profits.
“The government is adamant on making such decisions that will not only harm the country but will also increase the nation’s problems”, the speakers said.
On the occasion, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Hasan Murtaza alleged that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif want to please Mian Mansha by privatizing state institutions such as Wapda and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
