It has been more than three years since popular video-sharing website has been banned in Pakistan. However, the Ministry of Information Technology has given directions to allow YouTube to function once again in the country.
The Ministry of Information Technology also said the video sharing website was unblocked after its localized versions were available in Pakistan.
YouTube had been blocked in the country in 2012, when a blasphemous video had been shared over the internet. Pakistani authorities had asked the video-sharing website to take it down and the request had been rejected. Hence, YouTube was blocked in the country since then

Justice Qazi Faez Isa had remarked a couple of days ago that YouTube was an informative and educative tool.
