Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s A Girl in the River nominated for Oscars 2016

Pakistan’s only Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is on the route to once again become pride of the nation as another of her documentary film has been nominated for The Oscars.

Yes! Sharmeen has once again taken Pakistan to Oscars. Her documentary “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness” highlighting honor killings in the country has been nominated in Oscar category for Best Documentary – Short.

The resolute filmmaker says Pakistan will only progress when the ones committing crimes will be sent to prisons.

Brushing off criticism, she expressed her determination to raise the name of her country through her work.
The 88th Academy Awards popularly known as The Oscars ceremony is due to be held on February 28.
