
During the course of the meeting, Chinese investors expressed particular interest in investment projects which pertained to hydroelectricity. The Chinese delegation said that a transparent system relating to such projects would ensure that investment is promoted in the country.

Nawaz Sharif was also of the view that Chinese investment in electricity projects would help in tackling the energy crisis in Pakistan. “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would prove to be a game changer for the region,” he said.
He also said that the CPEC would benefit all four provinces within the country.
He also voiced the desire to make Gawadar a free port matching international standards. This economic project would ensure Baluchistan and KPK progress. During the meeting, projects in KPK relating to the economic corridor were also deliberated.
